Thoughts: On The Passing of an Icon

I may be pro-Apo Macoy, but I think I'll take a moment to pray for the late Corazon Aquino's soul. She passed away a couple of days ago. She will be missed by the many Filipinos who benefited from the fruits of the People Power Revolution.

For those of you who don't know her, Cory Aquino, was one of the pillars of the People Power Revolution in 1986. She was later elected by the people to replace Ferdinand Marcos as president. She was the wife of the late senator, Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, whose assasination fanned the flame of rebellion against the Marcos dictatorship. Mrs. Aquino was the mother of local gossip queen, Kris Aquino, and Philippine senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

A head of state, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother to her children's kids, Mrs. Aquino will be remembered by the people who loved and respected her.

You shall be missed. Rest in peace, Mrs. Aquino.

Picture obtained from Google. Here we see Cory Aquino wearing her trademark yellow blouse, waving a big L sign which was her trademark symbol during her old campaigns as president.

Just a funny thought though, it she ran for presidency now and used that hand gesture, I'm sure a lot of teenagers would laugh their asses off.
