Or at least the actor that made the series popular.According to this news post I found on Yahoo, David Carradine was found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand. The Police discovered his dead body hanging naked in the closet of his suite. Police are suspecting that Carradine might have committed suicide.
But why? His career is starting to get back on track?
He was apparently in Thailand for work. He was shooting for a thriller opposite French and Thai actors. His manager could not believe that he committed suicide on account that the actor was excited about the movie.
Anyway. Condolences to the family Mr. Carradine left behind. Rest in peace, Kwai Chang Caine.
Well, I already know David Carradine from Kung Fu, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, and Kill Bill. But did you know:
- David Carradine comes from a family of actors. His dad was a stage actor. His brothers Bruce, Keith, and Robert were also actors. His nieces also grew up to become actresses.
- David Carradine was once in a movie with Chuck Norris. The movie was Lone Wolf McQuade. It was shown released in 1983, 3 years after I was born.
- David Carradine was the original Frankenstein in Death Race 2000. Jason Statham's Death Race was a sort of remake/sequel of the said movie. In the 2008 version of the movie, Mr. Carradine rendered his voice for the masked Frankenstein.
- David Carradine has worked with top rank directors like Martin Scorsese (Boxcar Bertha, 1972) and Ingmar Bergman (The Serpent's Egg, 1977).
- David Carradine had a bit role in the recent Crank sequel, Crank: High Voltage. He played a rather old Chinese mob boss named Poon Dong.
- David Carradine made instruction videos for various martial arts. My friend own one of his Tai Chi videos. We even tried following one.
